Pros

Made great life-long friends. Enjoyed working there up until 3-4 years ago. Thought I was going to retire there.

Cons

Slowly (over the last 3-4 years) saw the decline in a community based hospital and moving towards a corporate take no prisoners approach to healthcare. Many, many departments outsourced to out of state companies. Constant fear your department was next and then your department was next. Management in some depts was very cliquey and hired friends even if not qualified. CEO, VPs, higher ups changed frequently. The guard was constantly changing in all departments. I was proud to have worked for Southwest, but the past 2-3 years I no longer even told people where I worked. If they found out where, very few had good things to say.
