Pros
Most employees are able to work remotely.
Cons
This organization has a classic start-up culture: no formal training procedures, messy onboarding process, and murky objectives for employees. The work one does is primarily online, and while this does afford some flexibility, I felt there was a lack of humanization from management. There was a culture of gossip from leadership, and a general feeling of malaise and stress from both employees and management. Management in the admissions department often complained about lack of work life balance(their inability to be a more present parent was a constant complaint), the faults of other people in the department( they would often speak negatively of their employees right after they exited a zoom call), and a constant stream of apologies and excuses for their lack of organization while taking no concrete steps to amend said issues. The whole time I worked there I felt overwhelmed by the negativity coming from management, and dismayed by the lack of positive leadership, training, and team-building. Much of my time was spent keeping record of the faults of the admissions counselors in my department, at the request of my manager. This made me feel incredibly icky, especially given the lack of training and guidance these employees were given and the very apparent stress each one of them was facing due to poor communication/expectation on the part of admissions leadership. Overall, I found the company culture to be one of stress, gossip, and insecurity- due to poor leadership, poor checks and balances for said leadership, and a lack of experience in field of MBA education. While they tout that their curriculum is as coherent as that of a elite institution, their management is not.
