Pros
Local startup with a great story and a wide range of really great people on the team! They're not afraid to spend money on the team (when they have the money) and staff functions (company-wide or just with your team) can be a lot of fun.
Cons
C-suite leadership heavy with minimal to no transparency or authenticity when it comes to communication. Your C-suite leader has no problem telling you "you're all safe, don't worry!" and then adds your name to the list for the next round of layoffs. The company means well with their diversity, inclusion and belonging committee but still has a LONG way to come in recognizing their own biases, subtle acts of exclusion, gaslighting, and micro-aggressions. Don't expect a promotion or pay increase (even a COL increase) at any point while you're working there. You'll be told "next quarter" and keep getting pushed off while they blame the industry and lack of new partners being signed.
