Pros
The staff at Per Scholas are always ready to assist each other in getting the job done. The benefits are quite impressive for a nonprofit org, including a 6% employer match in the 401K. The life insurance plan is actually the main reason I've stayed with this organization.
Cons
As I mentioned before, it's better to move quickly than to wait around. The leadership lacks thorough training in strategic planning yet gets promoted as if they've achieved something remarkable. They readily approve any idea without considering the potential risks or ripple effects on other departments. Every task is treated as urgent, and the organization prioritizes brand expansion over fixing foundational issues. From my perspective, they've strayed from their core values and mission; it seems like everything is rushed to meet their deadlines. This is the first time I've felt reluctant to grow within this organization due to the lack of accountability and transparency.
