Let's start from a fake company culture. Many long-time employees still think it's people oriented, but it's only about making investors happy. No fairness. Just dishonesty. They put on a show in place of a proper competency framework. Calibrations were a circus with managers dressed like clowns. There is a total bias imposed from top management in order to lower grades regardless efforts and talent. They did all they could and beyond to find excuses and unbelievable explanation to push people down: tricks invented the very last minute to impede promotions, salary raises and slow them down as much as possible (like: no promotion if you were not a top talent last semester, performance reviews every year instead of every 6 months, lowering down by one grade at least with the excuse of "raising the bar", and so on; they added a promo panel last minute that seemed the inquisition and invented clues just to stop your growth). Why? Save money of their investors and exploit people as much as possible by lowering their self-esteem. The bias they imposed makes your talent impossible to be recognised: it's more likely you get an inconsistent performance than a solid even if you are a high performer. In case it was not enough, they also blocked promotions for mid-hi levels by design, by saying there is no room for new positions there. Of course they lied all the time before, by saying that the new Competency Framework leveling system had nothing to do with available positions, as it was recognising people work. ahah. Rather than unfair, the company is dishonest. They also make you pay your trips and stays if you need to go to the office for business reasons but unfortunately you live elsewhere in the country. Of course they contracted you anyway because they needed you, but who cares if you pay instead of them? they save money. It's called TravelPerk (TK, not TP. because TP is for Toilet Paper, CEO's word) but there is no perk at all: no bonus scheme, no XMas gift, no incentives, not even for travelling. They foster IRL (In Real Life( work and obliged every one, all of a sudden, to go to the office 3/5. And they explicitly said: "if you dont' agree, you can go. this is not your place". Nice. Top managers are so bad that they just go around saying we can afford being harsh, because right now it's impossible to find a better job. How dishonest. Toxic environment, psychologically unsafe. Once someone observed in a AllHands that we should be more aware of the money we spend for the fruit in the office, and the CEO started mocking him publicly. A week later we had a meeting room named Avocado, and a team changed their name to Avocados. There are plenty of ironic stories about how bad is this place. Please do yourself a favour and stay far away from this bs.
