Management on my team micromanages you if you don’t align with their thinking. We constantly introduce new products or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) without proper validation to ensure their effectiveness. Leadership plays favorites, and if you’re not a favorite, they’ll make it your problem. (I’ve witnessed this firsthand with a colleague.)
We’ve filed several complaints to HR about our leadership, but nothing changes. HR acknowledges our struggles with leadership, yet nothing happens. They don’t offer annual raises, so they evaluate our pay every quarter but won’t inform us of the necessary steps to advance until we make a mistake, which they’ll then hold against us.
Leadership is quick to assume you’ve done something wrong. We’re forced to learn a new product the hard way and learn from mistakes instead of receiving proper training and education. They claim they don’t want a four-day workweek because they have Flex Time off, but then hold us as hourly employees, preventing us from enjoying that benefit.
