Pros

Talented Peers: The individual contributors here are some of the brightest in the industry. You will work with people who genuinely care about the product and each other.

Cons

Lack of Timezone Boundaries: While the company hires across the US, there is zero respect for local working hours. Meetings at unusual hours are a frequent occurrence. Asynchronous communication is non-existent or vague. Cycle of Perpetual Layoffs: The organization seems to be in a constant state of restructuring. Layoffs occur with such regularity that it has destroyed institutional knowledge and decimated morale. It’s hard to focus on long-term roadmaps when you’re wondering if your team will exist next quarter. "Always-On" Expectation: Due to the timezone issues and lean staffing, there is a heavy pressure to be available 24/7. Burnout isn't a possibility here,it’s an eventuality.

Pros

Collaborative, focused, "get-it-done" culture. Day-to-day feels directly connected with the company mission. Everyone is working toward common goals, and teams are always willing to help each other out to make things happen.

Cons

Too many layers and approval processes for the size of the company, creating unnecessary overhead for planning, prioritization, and execution. Lack of transparency into roles and responsibilities for execs / teams makes it difficult to navigate the organization at times.

Pros

Collaborative and supportive work environment even though 80% of the company is working remotely. Phil values feedback from employees at all levels as it grows.

Cons

You definitely have to prove yourself in order to get a promotion, but the pay was not competitive. New hires consistently made more than tenured employees, to the point that it was not uncommon for a team lead to make less than a new hire on their team. Company priorities were constantly changing and it was difficult to relay consistent success metrics. My biggest issue is that the majority of the client team did not have healthcare backgrounds, so they would frequently agree with client requests that the operations team would have to fight against due to compliance concerns. I loved working here until this year, when my boss hired my replacement with 0 notice, convinced me to join a newly developed team (I was excited about this at the time), then laid off half of the team with no notice.
