Supportive environment with great benefits, but limited progress - HLTA Phoenix Learning & Care Group Employee Review

Pros

The school truly values its employees, offering a solid benefits package including private healthcare, a cycle-to-work scheme, and various retail vouchers that help with the cost of living. Beyond the perks, there is a clear focus on career progression, with management actively encouraging staff to take on specialised training and leadership responsibilities. While the daily work is high-energy and demanding, the investment in staff development and the comprehensive benefits make it a supportive environment for long-term growth in the SEN sector.

Cons

Can be hard to progress in some areas

Pros

Working here has been an incredibly positive experience. From day one, my colleagues and the management team have been genuinely supportive, helping me settle into my role with confidence. The culture is welcoming, collaborative, and built on mutual respect — you truly feel like part of a team that wants you to succeed. What stands out most is the company’s commitment to personal and professional growth. There are real opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and progress in your career. Leadership is approachable, feedback is encouraged, and achievements are recognised and appreciated. This is an organisation that not only values its employees but actively invests in their wellbeing and future. I’m proud to be part of a workplace that prioritises growth, support, and positivity. I would confidently recommend this company to anyone looking for a rewarding and fulfilling place to work!

Cons

The pay can be better that what it is now.

Pros

Phoenix is an organisation that really has the people we support at its heart. Phoenix values team members and the organisation's HEART values are not just words; it's how people act. They also invest in high quality induction and training for all staff. Senior managers know the jobs ask a lot and they have your back. Phoenix has a neurodivergence affirming culture. They genuinely care about your mental health and work life balance. If you like their values I would recommend them as an employer.

Cons

Not much. The sickness policy could be more generous and compassionate.
