Pros
I worked at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. It was not completely like working for Pinnacle West. It was a bit more relaxed in enforcing some company policies. The pay for working at a nuke plant is much better than other types of electrical generating plants.
Cons
The whole company has become very impersonal. They brought in an outside company to determine your eligibility for things like time off for family illness, short and long term disability, and other paid time off benefits. Working at PVNGS in particular had become almost unbearable. Just getting from the parking lot to your work place inside the protected area, you may have to walk a mile. The drive to work can take well over an hour due to where it was built. They seemed to operate under crisis management mode 75% of the time.
