Incredibly supportive management - Web Developer Pixel Kicks Employee Review

Work culture is a main sticking point for me when deciding on a place to work. I've worked in companies that I haven't even known everyones name, and I hate it. If you're going to be spending 8 hours a day somewhere, you need to make sure you enjoy it! To me, Pixel Kicks has two sides: fun, and hardworking. We're a well respected agency in Manchester, and that comes from all the work that is put in from both teams; Web and Digital Marketing. Management are all approachable and actually listen to your ideas and concerns if you go to them. There is element of trust as well amongst them, and they know that if they're out of the office then work will still get done to our consistent high standard, along with giving us the ability to set our own working hours and WFH days. Whilst the workload may become stressful at times, there is still always a relaxed environment in the office - and along with the competitive year round darts tournament we play on lunchtimes there are also times we go out for work lunches, and have a few beers on Friday afternoon.

We're still a growing agency, and so there are times where projects can become stressful when trying to meet deadlines, and more people are needed from both departments to pitch in.

Pixel Kicks is a truly relaxed working environment where all team members are listened to, given flexibility and trusted to do their role the way they feel comfortable with as long as the agreed end goals are met. The team is tight knit and very sociable, and there is an unbreakable ethos that help will always be given to those who need or ask for it. Hard work is rewarded with more than just empty words.

While the team is growing, it's still small enough to be stressful during busy times. Employees may find themselves "helping out more than their fair share" which can be frustrating at the time, but is always made good in the long term. No in house beer pump despite 3 years of teasing that it might happen.
