Pros
Can't even think of one tbh.
Cons
This is the perfect place to come if you’re looking to get burnt out and run an entire department by yourself (as they pay you the minimum base salary required by the state of California). When I started we had ~145 employees nationwide, after leaving, we were notably below 100. Coming into Pixi, I read the Glassdoor reviews, but naturally, I thought the negative comments were from people who were let go under unfortunate circumstances. I was wrong. Everything you read on Glassdoor about Pixi is unfortunately true. There is no structure at this company. There’s no growth, unless you’re in “the family”. Here’s a list of lies (and false hopes I was promised) having one day WFH every other week Having a manager/ director lead a department Getting a promotion / raise after a verbal promise from upper management Summer Fridays Free product Instead, they started making us clock our time on time cards (even tho we’re salaried and not hourly). If you work overtime, they won’t pay you for this unless it’s “pre approved 2 weeks in advance” which they won’t actually ever approve. They’ll notably make fun of your ideas in meetings. They’ve literally held a company meeting that went over slides from upper management saying “Don’t misjudge our passion for rudeness” The founder, Petra, once brought the LA-based team in a room to have a meeting where she mentioned she could do all of our jobs with her eyes closed, and she would still “manage to do better than us.” HR can’t do anything, even tho the “chief of hr” (who isn’t actually involved with helping people) even talks poorly about “these unchangeable” ways. They keep this man employed solely because he knows too many bad omens the company can’t have exposed. Employees have brought up exclusively, as there are no darker shades. They don’t plan to release darker shades for the majority of their top-selling products. We only have 1 African-American employee. I repeat, 1. When we questioned benefits, the 32-year-old CEO mentioned we have occasional happy hours and an upcoming bowling trip. You’ll soon realize that the only benefits come to play after your 6pm clock out time. The CEO is the founder's son, who previously “worked on Wall Street” (although he didn’t actually, as he went to Irvine then went to a “Harvard” Masters program). He also has no notable passion (or knowledge) of the beauty industry. When something goes wrong. He’s ready to scream at anyone in hindsight and berate them in front of the office. Although he’s aggressive to be around, you’ll come to find he’s rarely in the office as he goes on bi-weekly luxury vacations with his younger girlfriend, as the entire office patiently awaits for him to come back as he’s the only person who can “approve” projects. Anyways, avoid Pixi. Save your time and your sanity.
