Pros

The Salt Lake center was a great place to get food during lunch. There were so many places nearby to enjoy. The staff was really cool. I met a lot of great people that worked there. Also, the break room was filled with yogurts and good things to eat. They were flexible I started in one department and moved departments fairly easily. The software/technology of what they made was really cool! They had a lot of software developers that used ruby on rails to program. The software was relatively easy to configure! They did activities and brought in food a lot. Martine was the nicest secretary ever! They also reimbursed for bus passes or parking. They also had some great benefits working there.

Cons

In both departments that I worked there were problems with management. One department had just been reorganized but still had a lot of serious problems. They couldn't find a real director/manager because the system was so broken. The other department also had management problems. I thought my manager was inexperienced and we didn't get along. Also, they had been running low on staff so we didn't have a manager at certain points in time. This was hard to tell people on the phone that there wasn't a supervisor to take the call. When we brought this up to management they would say, "Don't tell the customer there isn't a manager but resolve the issue the best you can." This was a terrible company to work for because they didn't have documentation on how to do your job. Training was terrible in both departments that I worked for. It seemed that they were just trying to cover their own butts but not really address serious long term problems. I brought up complaints to HR and they didn't really care to do anything about the problems I told them about.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. It is your feedback that helps us grow as an organization and improve upon our employee experience. While I am happy to see you enjoyed your coworkers, the flexibility and career growth, our concerted efforts to ensure a wonderful employee experience by reimbursing for parking and bus passes and offering a full suite of wonderful benefits, I am disappointed to learn you were unhappy with a few other areas. Due to the extremely rapid growth that our organization is experiencing, often times we as an organization continue to change and learn to work through issues with an open and innovative spirit - this is what keeps our organization running effectively and efficiently. Your feedback has been taken into consideration as we continue to grow and elevate our employee experience. In fact, some of the areas mentioned by you are being addressed with good solutions, improved processes and training. We appreciate your kind words about PlanSource and we strive every day to make it a best place to work. Thank you for your service with us and we wish you the best of luck.

Exciting company culture and fast paced. Management wants their employees to succeed and thrive.

Some leadership changes towards the end of my work there, but it seems like that has been smoothed out.

Pros

Remote or Hybrid work schedule, if you live outside of the city limits. Unlimited PTO policy, but is PTO ever unlimited.

Cons

There is not much room for advancement, if you’re not connected. Most of middle management and above are not POC. All the strong POC leaders were here today, gone the next day! The staff is overworked and underpaid. Only way to receive a higher salary is to resign and reapply. I survived a few CEOs, and once this last one came in all the tenured staff were being let go. Normal, if a new Executive comes in but there people were 15+ years in. This new PlanSource does not seem as if it cares much for their employees. Most of the workload is being outsourced to India. I’ve seen good, hardworking dedicate people get axed during my time! Not sure they’re invested in retaining good talent! Definitely a swim or sink culture, You will not get much help with learning the Benefits Admin system. It’s sort of a self-guided dive in approach.
