When I joined Pleo, I met some fantastic, caring, empathetic people who cared about the work and the people and things were in relatively good shape. Sure, there were improvements to be made, but with a few tweaks, we could have got there.
Then, a bunch of amazing tech leaders were fired, some quietly, some more publicly, or left, new tech and product leaders brought in, two of which only lasted a few months, and now we have been left with a headless, chaotic “disruptor” who leads by fear and sets people up to fail so that she can blame them for her leadership failings. People are terrified to speak up and worried about losing their job every day. It’s making so many people really ill, and many are now going out on extended sick leave, with the good people all resigning.
The CEO seems completely disengaged also.
There is zero empathy in senior leadership anymore. Please do yourself a favour and work somewhere else.
