Pros

The team I worked with was incredible, we worked very well together, had an amazing manager and great customers. I (and many of my colleagues) truly believed in the history and quality of Polarn O. Pyret's clothes.

Cons

Working in a store means that the store is open practically every day so one has to be able to work weekends more or less. But that comes with the job so it's not that big of a deal.

Pros

I can not say there are any pros to this job.

Cons

Poor management. Owner and Store Manager has no control over their staff. Sales associates and keyholders have bad attitudes and come off as know -it-alls. They hired me as an Assistant manager but the Store Manager avoided training me because she did not find it important enough so she had her keyholders who obviously have no respect for authority try to train me. The staff has such bad attitudes especially one keyholder who obviously wanted my position and completely came off bitter and I witnessed this employee racially profile a customer and argue with a customer on the sales floor when clearly the customer was in the right. I walked out. You can't possibly think it's ok to allow keyholders to train an assistant manager. You can't possibly think not caring to train your assistant is showing that you value them. This company doesn't know how to motivate their staff to do well. They expect someone else to do it without training them. I would avoid this company like the plague. I found way better just 2 days later. I'm glad I walked out because if I did not I would not have gotten the amazing opportunity to work as a GM with an organization that values me so much they flew me out of state to get the most amazing training experience ever with my retail counterparts and corporate.
