Pros
Having a job and a paycheck.
Cons
Portobello America treats American employees like they’re disposable. Brazilians are brought in on company paid visas, given leadership roles, and prioritized for growth while Americans are overlooked, overworked, and even fired to make room for the Brazilians. There’s no recognition, no raises, and no concern for personal well-being just an expectation to work long hours, to keep the company making money. Morale is low, and it’s clear who matters to the company, and who doesn’t. American employees often feel overlooked and undervalued. Recognition for contributions is virtually nonexistent, compensation remains stagnant, and workloads are demanding. Many American employees have expressed frustration however they remain excluded, overworked and unappreciated. This is on both the Tennessee and the Florida locations.
