Pros

I worked at Powerhouse Communications since its inception, and am proud to have been a part of such an amazing , vibrant team. I was able to grow immeasurable as a professional and build an impressive portfolio thanks to the opportunities provided to me. Plus, I had some pretty cool experiences over the years working with clients in the restaurant, franchise and CPG industries. I left feeling proud of the work I did and grateful for my relationship with the owner, who is knowledgeable, committed and a true PR rock star. - Impressive client roster - Many opportunities for professional growth - Close-knit team that does BIG, AMAZING work - Opportunities to take ownership and gain great experience for employees of all levels - Creative, colorful work space - Continued learning opportunities through groups like OCPRSA and others - Perks like work from home Fridays, casual office attire, lots of yummy food all the time - 401k benefits and awesome health insurance - Regular team bonding activities - Opportunity to be a part of a young, fun team with lots of great ideas - Owner is committed to her agency and its employees

Cons

The company culture is defined by a work hard, play hard attitude and employees are held to a very high standard. I don't see this as a con and nor do the firm's clients, but if you're not someone who possesses a high level of integrity and attention to detail then you won't do well here.

Pros

From the very beginning, I appreciated how quickly the Powerhouse team contacted me with information on how I could apply to become an intern. Once being accepted, they quickly welcomed me as a member of the team. As a student, I longed to get some exposure to the PR agency world before entering the workforce and interning with Powerhouse Communications allowed me to gain a greater experience than I could have imagined. The team really poured into helping me develop skills essential for the professional world while also simply caring for me as a person. While I have learned how to write press releases, pitches, social media content, and etc. as a student in college, there is something different about creating content for an actual client with real publics. I was not an intern who simply ran errands or did busy work, but was entrusted with actual tasks that kept me busy and I loved it! I would highly recommend interning or working with Powerhouse Communications if the opportunity becomes available!
