Upper Management is so disconnected from the real world.
Once you are pigeon holed into a position, you are stuck in that position and are wanted to maintain in that position rather than grow. During COVID, wages were cut 12% for "all staff". However, it was later found out that that was only true for "some" staff in certain locations and not others. However, the CEO implied it was company wide.

Many times, middle managers were hired from outside the company rather the internally trained and promoted resulting in misalignment of core values, ethics and team dynamics.
