Pros

Personal Growth - when I came in around late February this year I was very reserved and introverted. The people in the office helped me assimilate quickly and now I feel more confident in my personal relationships. I wish I could repay them all for the love they showed me. Communication/Marketing Skills - the skills you learn to communicate with potential customers are PRICELESS. I use these skills not only to inform home owners of the benefits of clean energy, but also help them break down the complexity of the energy market. Leadership/Mgmt Development - you will have a lot of responsibility in and outside of the office. You get experience managing a group of people and developing their marketing skills. You also get experience in the fundamentals of running a corporation.

Cons

If you’re not willing to put effort into your career, this may not be the path for you. The hours and commission have never been a problem for me because I kept a good student mentality, learned from the best guys in the office and know that I’m currently building towards a bigger goal of owning an office. My friends and family have supported me this whole time and I’ve never had this type of financial freedom before. It’s a merit-based business - you get out what you put in.
