Pros

Having seen some of the recent reviews I felt compelled to write something as they are totally unfair and unfortunately seem to be written by someone with a vendetta. I have worked at Proco for a number of years now and it has been nothing but an amazing experience. Salaries and the commission scheme are above market, there are generous benefits, we genuinely have a USP that clients and candidates need and we create global solutions for clients to partner with them in every region, and we have great colleagues across the world. When Covid hit the CEO moved very quickly, well ahead of other firms in the industry, reducing costs to ensure the business survived and saved as many staff as possible. I’m not in the UK but from what I saw, and I work on the same clients, nobody worked on furlough let alone being forced to, and they’ve since brought back as many people as possible. Although salaries were reduced for a few month, the structure of the commission scheme ensures your total compensation doesn’t reduce, we would have just received less basic salary and more comms as long we bill 3x salary. It was all very fair and consistent. Plus I’m pleased to say salaries are now back to 100%, well before competitors I know in APAC and UK. It is unfortunate that some of our colleagues were let go but these are unprecedented times and those people or offices weren’t profitable in a good market so wouldn’t be through a recession. I feel the communication around this was very transparent and although I'm sorry to those people involved I get it. I am also a female and do not feel that there is a boys club vibe at all. I’ve worked at other major agencies in the past and can tell you what a boys club looks like!

Cons

Our industry practices across the world work closely together and due to time zones Asia gets the short straw so we do need to take some late evening calls but it really does help with our client and market knowledge. Because of the niche industry and functional focus consultants work across an entire region. This can be very complex and can take time to build relationships. It’s super interesting and challenging but anyone who relies on jobs from a PSL or works via a portal may find it hard to adapt. You need to enjoy business development.

Pros

Work hard play hard mentality. You bill, you make money, simply put. You work hard, you are awarded, simply put. Supportive environment. The business is patient to allow people time to get up and running. If the business sees that you are putting the effort in, they will help you and support you to get to your goals.

Cons

The business, like every other company in the world has had to make changes and look at how they approach the market and overall, the internal landscape. Perhaps those decisions weren't easy for the business, but everything that was done was with everyone's best interest in mind.

Hi Tim, thanks for your review, Interesting - but not entirely factual. Firstly, whilst it hasn't been our greatest year, as with the vast majority of companies in our industry, There have been an awful lot of headwinds over the past 12 months that go a long way to explaining that. Secondly, we have lots of great people in this business who have understood that, knuckled down and produced incredible results. You weren't one of them, having billed less than your day rate over the previous 18 months (which I'm sure you haven't told your new employer). Interestingly, our best two months of the year have been since you left which I'm sure is a coincidence, but it feels quite symbolic. Finally, thank you for your "strategic" advice, I'll be sure to take it all on board. I wish you well Tim.
