Pros

May be a good jumping off point for someone with no sales experience.

Cons

Obscene amount of micro-management. Professional sales people are not encouraged to be strategic, and must ignore their skills. Metrics (especially phone time) are more important than results. A long phone call with no sale is considered more important than a sale. Business model is likely unsustainable. Agree with previous comment that favoritism is rampant. Don't expect to thrive here. Also agree that there is absolutely value prop. There is no reason for clients to buy from Productive.

Thanks for your review. We have listened to your feedback and have modified our approach to the market. Account Executives are still responsible for generating business, but are now measured on the depth and quality of customer interactions not merely quantity of dials. They are integral into the strategic approach to our base, and work with management to develop our go to market plans for their territories. We have also added some unique service offerings that are leading to deeper and better relationships with our customers. It is a strategic approach that has been very effective. I am unclear where the statement that our business model is unsustainable as we have been profitable every year for the last 15 years

Pros

If you have the business spirit you can succeed at Productive. Management gives a lot of room to either succeed with great success or go down in flames. You need to be confident and want to do the hard work. If you are a true sales person you can make a very good wage here, if you are not a good sales person there are easier ways to make a living. The dedicated territory and flexibility in managing that territory is a huge plus.

Cons

If you do not like working for a small business Productive is probably not the place for you. There is no extra staff so you need to perform at your job to show value to the company. Productive has similar issues are all small business do.

Pros

Start-up feel, neat quirkiness, happy hours, freedom permits entrepreneurial attitude towards assigned territory, lots of partner attention, large customer base for the size of the company, discussing deals with management, actually pretty cool people, call reviews with seniors and peers improves newbie skill tremendously, unique value add, tools to succeed and learn tech industry quickly if you are very motivated, self-interested, ambitious, type A driver, great downtown location, short Fridays, fun holiday events, downtown parking pass, increased flexibility with top performers, public praise.

Cons

No real formal training, not a place to go and get a promotion, unnecessary pressure to be dishonest with partners and compromise relationships, not the greatest incentives for crushing the numbers, turnover can have impact on end user relationships and employee morale, dropping the ball on spiffs, public shaming.
