Pros

Lots of freedom editorially - but to a fault.

Cons

If you're applying to work at Billboard, make sure you're a white straight man. They may tout a Women in Music event every year, but they consisently promote and hire straight, white men to editorial positions above qualified, hardworking women and minorities. There's been an exodus of female editors after the latest round of reshuffling. Editorial direction is also lacking; everyone works in their own world with little communication.

Pros

The company's brands have enjoyed a huge boost in the past few years. They are very forward thinking with digital content, especially when it comes to video, and there is a lot of room to try new things in those areas.

Cons

Since Janice Min left her editorial post, the quality of editorial content has plunged, and a lot of talented editors have either left or been fired. That, coupled with some questionable marketing of the brands gives the company a less optimistic outlook than it had a year ago. There was also a good amount of sexism coming from the mostly-male senior staff.
