Pros

Serving clients with diverse needs in a rural area. Working with some very compassionate and driven team members. Company provided uniforms.

Cons

Lack of leadership, organization, and non-competitive salary. Higher than average staff turnover rate. Using outdated McKesson documentaion software. Lack of resources for the patients. Normally, a high quality hospice home care company offers the patient, toward the very end of life, a continuous nurse in attendance- this office did not. On call nurse expected to drive exceptionally long distances, sometimes causing the next patient in need to wait an inordinate amount of time. Backup call nurse often complained about having to visit a patient. Overall, high turnover rate including management and director and lack of leadership along with arbitrary implementation of policy and procedures.

Pros

Proximity to home, flexibility provided when needed

Cons

Lack of workload balance when comparing the short term and longterm demands. Archaic unreliable technology, poor supply management, Only paid for one holiday and only if you are working. High turnover from upper mgt down. Redundancies in work processes. Many employees are paid for one position, but performing 2 to 3 other job descriptions. 30 day lead to take a day of PTO while other ppl are on PTO for months, thus causing an already strained situation worse. Lack of investment in the property by ownership. No office space for Unit Managers, one shares a small closet with a commercial ice machine, the other is in the supply closet that was once a shower. Low morale.
