Pros

They give me all the hours I ask for, sometimes more. They know the jobs I like to do and will schedule me for them. They ALWAYS give you the days you ask for off. Pay is better than most kids get at my age. The relationship between management and employees is a friendly one in which we can joke and be open with each other. Management care and congratulates employees on achievements like graduating, getting married, or having a baby. The people who work there are what make it truly amazing. The management REALLY care about what they do. Which makes it easy for me to REALLY care about what I do.

Cons

Sometimes the customers can be a little helpless or ungrateful. Sometime we forget that the customers aren't pros on the store like we are and it's aggravating when they ask dumb questions like where is the bread. When the sign says where the bread is. Really is a battle to get carry out. Sometimes you have to ask 2 or 3 times before the customer will let you take them out to their car. It's kind of hard to move up from bagger to cashier, you pretty much have to beg. Sometimes the customers are a little too in your face. It's hard to put up with. The uniforms are a little thick which makes it extra hot in the summer time in florida. also during reviews I feel that they purposely keep the score low so they don't give you a big raise. but that could just be me.

Pros

Amazing 401K, free stock after one year of employment, health insurance is very good for part-time employees if only getting it for yourself, management always approves time off requests, hours are always available, will work around school schedules, tuition reimbursement program, will reimburse you for gas for work-related expenses as needed and will put you in a hotel as needed for work-related reasons that are more than 50 miles from your home.

Cons

Not every store is the same, some stores are run better than others, some managers look down upon people with disabilities, and some see people with disabilities the same as someone without disabilities, they are very big about favoritism, you have to work a lot to earn a vacation, the company does not give out sick time and full-time gets the most benefits and is next to impossible to get full-time. Also, you practically have to be a former employee with a clean record or related in some way to a current employee to get a job with the company though Kentucky Publix's don't quite function that way.
