Pros

none existent human beings only

Cons

Over the last 7 years this company has been all over the place, but at the moment it’s honestly the worst it’s ever been. It is awful, we’re treated like working dogs with no recognition at all, just expected to get on with it while teams fall apart around us. So many of us are struggling mentally. There’s no work life balance, no flexibility for parents with kids, the stress if you become ill or you have an emergency at home or school and the wages are so low people are barely covering rent and electric. We’re working 50+ hours most weeks yet we’re screwed if we drop below one week because they ignore what we do the rest of the weeks, a lot of it not even clocked in the extra hours we do, just to keep the store ticking over. Instead of being spoken to like humans, we’re disciplined over the smallest things and everyone also knows as nothing is a secret in this company. There’s a whole department that feels like it’s just out to get people rather than help. Working here drains you. It makes you feel stuck and scared, like there’s no way out. ACS don’t help like they’re meant to. We see them for about an hour a week and all we get is a list of what’s wrong, no actual support to fix things. They only really turn up with equipment or cleaning stuff or to do an occasional PBR. Market coaches show up once in a blue moon and don’t listen to a word you say or offer any help. The only glimmer of hope we have is the trainers now and again, even then they only come and do criticals and talk about staff training or promotions even though we don’t have the labour to cover breaks or train a new shift runner but they listen they “try to care”. We’re left on our own in stores and blamed for everything, no matter how much we ask for support. Promises of promotion and then externals are hired and we’re pushed to once side again. We sit through mandatary meetings (12 hours not including how long it takes us to get there and back) about how well the company is doing, but only a few people ever get credit. The rest of us are ignored. Favouritism is everywhere and grudges are definitely held. Maintenance is a joke. New systems keep coming in but nothing actually gets fixed, and then we’re the ones punished on ROCC for it. People come and go all the time in the past 3 years I’ve had 3 area coaches and 4 PCC’s (what does that say) and the ones who stay aren’t the same anymore, they’re worn down, broken, and stuck, just like the rest of us.
