      Decent company - High pressure from private equity acquisition - Manager R1 RCM Employee Review

      Pros

      Remote work had many benefits. Was a changing corporate environment with decent pay. Manageable workload.

      Cons

      Company moved from quality towards quantity due to private equity acquisition. Difficult implementations of offshore teams working to take the jobs I started out in. Loss of benefits to average employees which upper management fundamentally didn't understand.

      Amazing work life balance and flexible hours with many projects to learn from

      Cons

      No promotions, and the yearly pay increase is basically the inflation rate

      The voluntary separation offer was good.

      Cons

      I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
