Pros

Diverse group of employees but you’re not encouraged to socialise and talk in the office without being told to shut up

Cons

The most toxic workplace I’ve worked in. You’re forced to come to the office and sit in silence whilst being attached to a wired headset. The level of micromanagement is crazy. You have to ask permission to go toilet and you’ll be auxed into a system all day telling them what you’re doing. Everthing is monitored so when you take calls they will screen record your screen and see what you’re doing. Calls are played out loud in the office and negative feedback is given infront of everyone without your consent. Everyone is on different salaries and are being paid up to 8k more than you even though you’re doing the same job and not much difference in experience. Your breaks and lunches are scheduled but even during this time you must sit in silence and if you make too much notice you’re told to be quiet. The management don’t care about your wellbeing or the fact that you have to sit in a freezing office all day with no sympathy of you getting ill. There is no progression unless you suck up to everyone and even then it’s not guaranteed. If you do not agree with them then you’re told to quit your job

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of this role is the autonomy. I’m trusted to make decisions that genuinely support the customer experience without constant approval from leadership. If I believe an exchange plus a $250 gift card is the right solution to preserve a relationship, I’m empowered to do that. That level of trust creates confidence and allows us to move quickly when issues arise. Leadership is accessible when needed, especially in escalated situations. I’ve never felt left alone to manage something beyond my scope. There is also regular voluntary overtime available, which is a plus for those looking to increase their hours. For someone transitioning from another industry, the environment feels more structured and brand-focused, which has been refreshing

Cons

The clientele can be challenging. Some customers assume that spending thousands of dollars entitles them to treat frontline employees disrespectfully, even when those employees had no involvement in the original issue. It can also be frustrating to hold a boundary with a customer, only to see it reversed after escalation. While I understand the desire to preserve relationships, it can unintentionally undermine employee confidence and consistency in standards. Because RH carries so many collections and product variations, the learning curve is steep. Customers often expect immediate, detailed product knowledge, which takes time to develop.
