Pros

Organisation offers access to a variety of interesting projects. Many great people with high levels of technical competency.

Cons

Organisation was acquired by RINA and is lacking in professional and experienced management. Great people are leaving, and overall staff turn over is very high, due to low salaries and poor leadership. Fair, ethical, and transparent growth opportunities do not exist for the majority of staff. Employees are extremely under valued and are not compensated for high levels of effort or overtime. Employees lack any real incentives to stay with the company long term. It is extremely difficult to get any kind of pay rise, despite significant changes to job role/responsibilities. There doesn't seem to be any formal method by which to request or put an argument forward for a pay rise. Basic annual pay rises do not occur. And cost of living increases are barely in line with inflation. Staff generally feel very undervalued. Zero/very few progression opportunities. There are no set salary "bands" and people across all genders and levels of seniority are paid completely at random, and very unfairly. There is great reluctance to bring salaries in line with external UK market values, and very little (to zero) consideration of staff input. Integration following acquisition has been a disaster and there is zero trust between staff and upper management/HR. There is little/no confidentiality and upper management/HR is lacking in professionalism and ethical leadership, that staff expect and require from a place of work. Overall, RINA does not offer a positive or flexible work environment and staff have very few (if any) reasons to stay.

Pros

Employees perceived as closely connected to the Italian headquarters and leadership culture appeared to have stronger long-term career stability and internal support.

Cons

In my experience, the company culture felt deeply outdated and heavily driven by hierarchy and micromanagement. Meritocracy was difficult to perceive, and mediocrity often seemed normalized rather than challenged. HR support was among the weakest I have experienced professionally, particularly regarding employee development, communication, and transition management. Compensation was below market standards considering the level of responsibility and workload, while objectives were frequently perceived as unrealistic or structured in a way that made them difficult to achieve. The company promotes strong corporate values publicly, but there was often a noticeable gap between those values and day-to-day internal practices. Professional growth, innovation, and continuous learning did not appear to be genuine priorities. Employees who worked hard and delivered results did not always feel recognized appropriately, while cultural and nationality alignment with the Italian headquarters appeared, at times, to carry disproportionate weight in career progression and internal support.
