Pros

When I worked for an Kering brand, I was always confined to the flagship store and did not have the chance to work press events, private client showings, etc. at external locations. What has been cool about Royce so far has been doing monogram events for NYFW, on the High Line, at the Standard hotel rooftop, in LA and Las Vegas, as well as other local venues in the NYC area in my limited time with the company.

Cons

The hours are like those of a bartender given how many events. For example, a recent event didn't end till past midnight which can be tough when you have kids. Fortunately I don't have any yet, but I feel for my coworkers. Luckily, it's a family business so they're quite cognizant of that and scheduling is pretty flexible since there's a lot of us on staff.

Pros

bonus structure extremely generous - you can make up to $20k in performance incentives plus healthcare and dental insurance as well as 401(k) plan. it's nice to work for a company that produces a very high quality product plus everyone gets input in new designs.

Cons

being with a company during its growth phase can be very exciting but also stressful when management has high hopes for getting on the inc5000 list year after year

Pros

did my college summer internship at Royce Leather and it reaffirmed how much I love marketing and brand management. I wasn't stuck with nonsense clerical work but instead got to work on exciting current projects where my voice was actually taken seriously. A nice surprise that I had not anticipated was what a generous honest group of people work at Royce- even if I was just a temporary intern, they really gave me a lot of attention.

Cons

The working hours were longer than I expected especially since some events were on weekends and since I live on the upper west side the commute sucked a bit

We're so happy you enjoyed your internship with us and we are sorry about the commute! However, it is integral for our interns to buy in and we are glad that taking you to meetings achieved that!
