Pros

- Lots of very smart, switched-on, well intentioned people - Interesting problem space - Pretty good benefits

Cons

- Generally high-pressure working environment, everything feels urgent all of the time - Often poor/unfortunate communication from/between various leaders/functions - Little transparency around decision making processes, very top-down - Confrontational/adversarial behaviour seems rewarded? witnessed some actively hostile interactions, and many passive-aggressive ones - Pockets of deeply unfortunate opinions, once you scratch the surface, witnessed some remarks bordering on sexism (though not from leaders, to be clear/fair) - No idea what career progression would look like here, for my discipline and for others

Pros

This is one of those precious few startups that is run and populated by incredibly smart people who are all pulling their own weight and all giving their full effort to do the right thing. That includes doing right for the long-term success of the company, doing right by everybody else, and doing right in the wider world. I love being part of a team putting in the hard work toward such a huge exciting mission. Especially in crypto/blockchain, there are no shortage of companies trying to play at the exploitative edge of what they can get away with in many parts of how they operate, and Radix is a shining exception.

Cons

As with any startup, the pace is fast and there are risks. But it's unusual for a startup to do so much to try to mitigate those risks and respect the fact that people need lives outside work.

Pros

Fully remote, run by smart people (though with big egos).

Cons

The company tried to scale too quickly (tripled employee count in less than a year and went for a huge marketing, unsuccessful, spend) when the numbers just weren't there. The growth was completely unsustainable and led to no real value created, it was a façade to try to raise money and fail miserably to do so at the expense of people's lives. It was a very irresponsible approach from management that resulted in 30% of the workforce being laid off out of the blue. Management only cares about their tech team, if you are a developer it might be an ok career move (though given the opportunities out there I'd strongly think about whether this is the best you can get). For non-tech employees, don't waste your time. You will ALWAYS be replaceable for this company unless you're willing to completely give up work-life balance, against what they promise in interviews.
