Pros

- Incredibly smart and kind co-workers - Get to solve interesting problems that have real-world impact on physicians and patients - Super fast-paced and a culture that is action oriented and doesn’t overthink things - Great industry that seems poised to grow in the coming years - Flexibility in how/when you get the job done

Cons

It’s a startup. That means the structure is being actively built and folks are still figuring things out. It also means you have to wear a lot of hats, work really hard, and be open to change. As someone else pointed out this is not for everyone.

Pros

I appreciate that the company is genuinely mission-driven in how it tries to navigate difficult questions from product roadmap to customer support. In doing so, managers see the scope of what we should be doing as fairly broad - new products, new features, and fast pace. The company is taking time to minimize the issue of technical debt by being proactive in learning how to scale - being willing to suffer through that now will pay dividends later. At the same time, the founders have been conservative in seeking outside funding which has meant a great deal of autonomy for how the company seeks to grow and change. My personal impression is that everyone who has made it past three months at the company is highly competent and committed to the mission, which makes it worthwhile to push hard to get stuff done.

Cons

There are some very real cons any applicant should seriously consider. First, this start-up isn't in the habit of burning cash at a very high rate. That means that at least a part of what keeps you here is that you believe in the mission and that you get to do things that other companies wouldn't let you do at this point in your career. When you have a bad week you need to believe that you'll be rewarded on the other end of this and are okay with what can feel like a slow and uphill fight to make a difference. Second, if you're considering a managerial position here you should know that you'll need to be in the trenches as often as at 50,000 feet. If you don't get excited about rolling up your sleeves and pulling late nights as a leader, this is not for you. Third, the company is trying to figure out how to scale which means that it sometimes makes mistakes. You'll typically not see the same mistake being done twice but if you can't get past the fact that smart people will make mistakes (i.e. if value high levels of certaintly and clear direction over creativity and passion) you will probably not enjoy it here.

Pros

Co-founder and CEO has built a great culture at this growth start-up. You're not micro-managed, but of course, expected to do your job and perform at a high level. All employees are valued and have a voice. Tons of runway for career growth and advancement in every department. The technology is legit, solves some real problems in healthcare. 100% customer retention to date -- not a single customer has dropped Radix since purchasing -- what does that tell you? Quality benefits and very fair pay / comp structure. Very bright future for this company, getting a lot of looks from investors.

Cons

Depending on where you live, the commute to the West Midtown office can be challenging.....but there's flexibility to work from home on an as-needed basis. Open concept office can be a bit noisy at times.
