Great Environment, Poor Employee Value - Anonymous employee Raintree Athletic Club Employee Review

Pros

The friendly and positive environment is amazing. The club is very selective about the employees they hire, so most team members are honest, kind, and hardworking. Team members also receive free memberships based on hours worked per week, plus discounts throughout the club.

Cons

Obtaining enough hours to live on is impossible working at RAC, even if you work in multiple departments and at ALIVE (the gym a block away owned by RAC.) *Rumor has it that full-time employees who DO exist don't receive competitive pay nor benefits- and that RAC purposefully overhires so that they do not have a supple amount of full-time employees. I DON'T know whether that is true or not, BUT what is certain is that very few full-time employees exist. Managers can "try" to get you full-time as you ask, but you'll end up with 5-20 hours a week max anyways. It's a rainstorm on a nice parade.

Pros

Great atmosphere, great people, and they really try to be as fair as possible to their employees

Cons

No benefits or PTO for trainers, almost impossible to meet the hourly requirement to get benefits

Pros

co workers, free gym membership

Cons

Weaponized “healthy culture” in place of taking care of employees. GM was a terror to work for and condoned misogyny and racism by patrons. Often yelled and was manipulative to employees. Don’t offer healthcare. Limited room for growth.
