Pros
Decent pay, I guess. Hires really good people with great skill sets to help clients and make the program great.
Cons
Does not allow the good talent they hire to actually help the clients and make the program great.
There has been non-reported incidents where clients and staff have been put in dangerous situations and there has been no changes to help prevent those situations from reoccurring.
Clients are allowed to run in and out at all hours of the night and early morning in unfortunately one of the most dangerous parts of the city. Many clients they intake have severe medical conditions and they are not equipped to help these clients. For example, there are no railings along the hallways and they take many people on crutches, with walkers, and in wheelchairs.
Clients are being set up to fail through this program. They put people that are going through mental health crisis in the same rooms together which has led to heated arguments, increased stress and substance use, and subjection to more trauma. Some clients have refer to the rooms as cells.
They are mismanaged in every possible way! |For example, there 6 or 7 $300 fans purchased for staff areas, but the clients were not provided fans during the past summer months. Some of their rooms got so hot that they were forced to leave their room doors open in order to beat the heat. FACTS!
When staff brought this to management attention, they were told that there would be no fans purchased for clients because they would just steal them. FACTS!
They work primarily with African American people but the entire day staff has no diversity and for the most part of my employment, they only had African American people working on the overnight shift, until I brought this to their attention multiple times. They have no diversity in management and majority of the suggestions made by staff members of color are devalued, disregarded, and met with hostility.
The lack of structure at this company should be taken into consideration before making a decision to become an employee. If you do take the position, speak with other staff members on what to be mindful of in order to protect yourself because you will not get these tips from management. They are completely out of touch with client and staff needs.
