Pros
I worked in their store. At first I liked the job but a change in manager turned a low paid but reasonably enjoyable job into the night of the living hell. I initially worked with a substitute manager who was wonderful---liked people, liked retail---and who trusted staff to know what they were doing. Wide variety of tasks and I wasn't required to ask permission first to do what needed to be done.
Cons
The manager came back from FMLA leave of absence. She was the exact opposite of the woman I had worked with previously. I lasted another two weeks. I went from happy, friendly, outgoing to totally withdrawn. I was constantly criticized and reprimanded for things as petty as getting a drink of water. The most serious problem, however, was most of the staff were developmentally disabled and I was given no instruction, training, orientation, nothing with regard to how to work with these people. I guess management figured that since I wasn't direct care staff, I didn't need to know.
