Pros
Co-workers are generally great people and made the experience tolerable.
Cons
- Highly KPI driven environment with very limited flexibility. There was also an expectation for overtime which in my experience, the workload often exceeded what felt reasonable for the pay.
- Frequent mandatory trainings, full-day workshops, and regular meetings made it difficult to meet KPIs within standard working hours. This often resulted in needing to make up billable time elsewhere, despite the significant amount of unbillable administrative work required in the BSP role.
- Attempts to address workload pressures included initiatives like “lunch and learns,” which required attending training during breaks. While framed as support, this reduced actual downtime and didn’t alleviate workload expectations.
- Wellbeing and “self-care” initiatives felt somewhat surface-level. While things like short walks were encouraged, they didn’t address the core issue of workload and KPI demands, which still needed to be met alongside administrative responsibilities.
