Pros

Salary is decent Coffee machine Water purifier

Cons

As a software developer, you're expected to work on 3+ year legacy projects that lack documentation and there isn't any awareness of best practices in the company. Many times I watched the team raising multiple concerns over the code quality but no one ever cares your opinion as an engineer because you're expected to follow blind orders or else. They'll make you responsible for your performance in the spaghetti repos that you're not allowed to change in any form. Many times I found the management to be passive-aggressive as you depend on their approval to from work from home once every 2 weeks. If you have kids, expect them to give remote work after the core hours you just spend in the office. The nearest subway station is horrendous at peak hours: Oxford Circus For software developers, it's far from great and any other company will provide better conditions and respect towards its collaborators.

As an engineering-led organisation, everyone’s evidence-based inputs are valued here. Our employee churn figures among both developers and the wider team are well below industry averages so we are always surprised to hear such strong feelings. It is relevant to know that we parted with the employee in question just two months into probation because of performance issues. Specifically, the majority of management are parents of young children themselves. We take our team’s responsibility towards family extremely seriously and provide flexible working options according to those needs. We have also recently implemented quarterly company-wide NPS polling to gather feedback anonymously and regularly. ‘Peak’ hours at central London tube stations are by definition rather busy. Although we have no control over human flow patterns in the largest metropolitan area in Europe, we do offer flexible start times so that our team can avoid travelling at morning rush hour without having to wake up very early. More generally, we believe the slight discomfort we experience being occasionally squeezed on the tube is far outweighed by the mosaic of 9 delicious falafel options within a stone’s throw of our Soho HQ. Yum.

Pros

-The company provides excellent growth opportunities and ensures my abilities are utilized in the best role possible. -One of my first experiences was attending a summit in Barcelona, where the entire team was flown out. This reflects how much Red Sift has invested in its employees from day one. -Remote work is a significant benefit, offering flexibility and work-life balance. -The company fosters an environment where you want to stay long-term rather than the typical two-year cycle. -Salary increases come with role changes, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding growth and performance.

Cons

-All US positions are remote. While remote work is a great perk, it can be challenging for some people who prefer in-person setups. I love remote work, but I thought it may be important to point out. -Red Sift has experienced typical growing pains as a startup but is actively working to overcome these challenges.
