Pros
Having worked at Redwood Technologies for over 15 years I've been with the company long enough to see how the company has grown from a small start-up to a successful high tech company with over 150 employees. The people I work with are hard working, focused professionals who are driven to provide quality services and products that satisfy our customers needs. The hard work and professionalism has paid off with Redwood recently winning a Queens Award for Innovation. The company rewards it's staff well, the salary and bonuses are excellent. However for me it's the people who, through their continued hard work and dedication, have driven the company forward that provides the greatest satisfaction. For graduate engineers there are fantastic career opportunities to progress into software engineering, project management or sales. I myself started as a support engineer and now work in a team of experienced software development engineers delivering quality software and services to a wide range of customers in a wide range of markets.
Cons
The work can be demanding. I've seen several negative reviews especially from graduates who have not enjoyed their experience working at Redwood. Having started at Redwood many years ago (as a recent graduate) I can recall the late nights and working the occasional weekend. However I also remember that I was working with others as part a team focused on solving problems or delivering a service for customers. We have come a long way and the company has grown significantly since I first started. However the same commitment and hard work to get the right outcomes for our customers remains. As the company has grown we need to make sure the new graduates get the same support and help they need to allow them the same opportunities as I have been given.
