Honest Review of Renee Cosmetics - Anonymous Renée Cosmetics Employee Review

I am writing this review with the sincere hope that it will be a helpful resource for those considering employment at Renee Cosmetics. My intention is to offer a candid account of my experience during my tenure at the company. When I first joined Renee Cosmetics, I was genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunity. The company had a reputation for thriving, and the job description seemed promising. However, the reality I encountered was quite different My assigned job role was not in line with the initial job description, and the overall atmosphere at the workplace was extremely toxic. There was no basic regard for the language used in the workplace. We were insulated and belittled at the very basic humane level almost treating the employees like servants. The overall company environment (especially my dept) was negative and led to frequent mental breakdowns. The workload was demanding, often requiring us to work excessively long hours, extending to 14-16 hour workdays. Unfortunately, the promised flexibility of even a few hours was rarely granted. It was disheartening to observe that arriving just one day late to the office resulted in a significant salary deduction. On the other hand, dedicating extra hours to contribute to the company's success did not lead to any financial compensation or acknowledgment of our additional efforts. The company failed to provide safe and convenient transportation options, such as reimbursing cabs, for female employees who had to commute late at night from isolated and poorly lit locations for their job assignments. These circumstances clearly indicated a lack of work-life balance and safety considerations. Attempts to address these concerns were largely ignored. This could have been because of the presence of nepotism and a marked lack of professionalism within my department. I cannot state whether the company's owners were aware of or interested in the issues plaguing the company's working environment. My final experience with Renee Cosmetics was marred by complications related to my Full and Final settlement (F&F). The company took an extended amount of time to process my documents, significantly exceeding the timelines outlined in the company's policy. Despite my persistent follow-ups and attempts to adhere to Renee's specified TAT, the HR department proved uncooperative. This unfortunate situation had a negative impact on my reputation with my subsequent employer, as I had initially communicated the timelines based on Renee's policy. In conclusion, my time at Renee Cosmetics revealed a stark contrast between the company's professed values and the actual workplace experience. The company culture is driven by extreme toxicity and I have not seen any actions taken to combat the same.
