Cons
Owners are tyrannical in their approach to leadership and placing unreasonably high expectations, for the sake of "passion" alone. Preaches "sustainability", but it's mostly performative marketing. Little is done to properly support employee bandwidth, often scheduling nearly nine hour solo shifts, without a proper lunch break. Management style is generally toxic. No real conversations are had regarding performance. Feedback generally steamrolls, rather than offering practical solutions to improve performance. When an employee reaches their breaking point and tries to have a discussion about store structure, they are replaced and sent out the door without much of a reason given. It's an ouroboros that's only going to see more turnover as employees reach a breaking point. Frankly, I think the owners are more interested in stroking their egos with medals and exploiting that for commercial profits, rather than in doing the actual work to run a business. They are entirely culpable in promoting bad ethics, making them not much better than a corporate chain.
