Pros

The pay was above average

Cons

You basically apologized all day for the drivers missing pickups, the phone would not stop ringing with people complaining about how bad this service was. Also billing questions about why their bill would go up by 25% 9 months after signing a 3 year contract. It's total extortion as they try to hold you to the contract. It appears that organized crime hasn't gotten to far away from the garbage business. Horrible work environment in an office for 10+ hours a day, too hot and then too cold. Not very friendly employees and the training is horrible. You will spend weeks doing online training and then 3 days in phoenix only to realize that everything you were taught was completely useless when it came to the performance of the company and it's operations staff. Way to paperwork heavy too. Still manually filling out forms and trying to figure out the right codes. You will get buried in paperwork.

Pros

The pay is competitive, especially with overtime opportunities, and there is strong potential to earn a solid income for employees willing to work hard. The job also provides steady work and consistent hours, which can be valuable for drivers looking for financial stability.

Cons

The work/life balance for roll-off drivers can be difficult, particularly when working weekends. Drivers are often scheduled in a way that keeps hours under 60 while still requiring Saturday work, rather than being given an additional recovery day during the week. With the level of physical labor involved, one day off is often not enough to properly recover. There is also a heavy emphasis on “swinging” containers. While swings can make sense when locations are far apart, many are scheduled for stops that are very close together and provide little operational benefit. Swings add significantly more physical labor for drivers and, in some cases, can actually take longer than traditional service methods. Over time, consistently working 55–60 hour weeks under these conditions can lead to fatigue and burnout.
