Pros

If you're trying to get a foot in the door for a career in IT this is a great opportunity. You'll be able to learn basic networking skills (IP address configuration, network diagnostics, switch work), virus and spyware removal, and hardware troubleshooting. When I was working there management was always helpful and fully supportive if you came across a situation that was way over your head. There assistance helps you to grow as well as feel confident when going out to fix a student's computer issue. It's a great way to bulk up your resume a bit with some useful IT skills. It helped me land an IT job upon graduation.

Cons

Although ResNet will give you the basic skills needed to break into IT, IT in general right now isn't actually in great shape. A lot of outsourcing and foreigners taking jobs within US soil is affecting the health of this once thriving career filed. This, accompanied with the fact that the market is extremely flooded, makes IT a sub-par choice for a career. Apart from IT itself, ResNet also has a few cons. The work there is great to place on your resume but some employers may mistake ResNet for being too soft of a job. I've had several interviews where I got the feeling the employer didn't really appreciate ResNet as a top quality IT job. Also, the pay isn't that great because hours are often sporadic and not plentiful. Finally, you're helping student's with their computer problems. Occasionally, you'll come across some pretty disgruntled students when trying to fix an issue. They'll tend to take their stress out on you. So be cautious of attitudes when going out on appointments,.

Pros

Flexible schedule. The boss is a great guy and always makes sure to find replacements if you need more time for class.

Cons

Not much really. It's quite a lot of work.. you'll find yourself working well over eight hour on the busiest days and walking around campus a lot. But it's a fun job so most people still enjoy doing it.
