Pros

Remote work, the people doing the work are incredible

Cons

Leadership has bred a toxic culture with lies, gaslighting and extreme bias toward anyone who does not agree with their failing strategy, which would be a stretch to call it such. It is truly disappointing to witness the discrimination, lack of foresight and proper planning to set what could be a great company up for success, and the complete blindness of those who call themselves leaders at this company toward the many errors that have led the company's ultimate demise. I've never seen a company led with so much bias, misdirection and ego in the face of constant failure and ineffectiveness. Constant virtue signaling and unprofessional behavior from the top did irreparable damage to a company that could have had incredible impact on the nonprofit sector if common sense or proper insight was utilized at any point in building this company. Yet, each leadership team member can be found boasting about their expertise as a "Linked In Leader" while they should be strategizing and executing on how to make this "tech for good" company do good rather than exploiting the guise of good for profit.

Pros

The people on my teams were fantastic, some of the best professionals I’ve ever worked with.

Cons

There was a lot of change, and it was rough to trust the future of the org

Pros

- Great CS team, and a good place to build data-driven skills quickly if you are newer to the CS field. - Work with amazing grassroots and mid-level nonprofit leaders across the country.

Cons

- Pay is incredibly low for the field - Unclear OKRs, constantly changing (but this is also because business objectives are adjusted to be fair) - High turnover because there is very little investment in employees. - Leadership is very out of touch with the mission and only cares about the bottom line - I have been here for about a year and there have been at least 2 rounds of layoffs with no support given to teams affected. - No diversity in the senior leadership team. The company was founded by a Black woman and now that she has left the org has lost much of its dedication to DEI principles.
