Pros

You get a free vacation for your orientation if you like Salt Lake City. they fly you there they put you up in a nice hotel for a week and they do all the orientation.

Cons

Well, they were so excited to open a new market in Virginia and they close that very shortly saying they were nonprofitable. They didn’t even give the area four months to become successful. Well, my orientation class started with 8 of us now there’s only one left. We started in October and they basically laid everybody off or terminated all of us for no reason at all none they cannot give us a reason. They told us that there was some 90 day expectations and there was not they told us that there were contracts and there was not they told us they will support us with the wound care class that you spend the $900 on and then two days later they will tell you that there’s no more need for your position stay away, especially in the Pittsburgh area. they were so excited to open a new market in Virginia and they closed that very shortly saying they were nonprofitable. They didn’t even give the area four months become successful.

Pros

Working in patient's home allows you to tailor care to improve compliance and outcomes. Grafting is cool. Seeing wounds heal is rewarding

Cons

Most of the positive reviews were solicited by management, I got the email too. Read your offer letter carefully--the salary listed isn't the salary you'll be bringing home. All of your benefit come out of the listed salary--actual salary will be at least 10k less. You pay for all your benefits out of your salary. No real education benefits. You'll have monthly assignments, not optional, in Wound Reference. Lots of reading and a fill in the blank quiz you'll have to pass. Each answer can be up to 4 or 5 typed paragraphs--up to 20 questions. Takes hours of unpaid time each month. No pharmacology CEUs. They don't reimburse any licensed renewals. No raises. Lots of time managing your supplies. You order them, pick them up at FedEx, space in your home, keep inventory. All unpaid time and it adds up. All meetings are unpaid time. Only 1 bereavement day a year even if two relatives die or you need travel time. 3 month notice for resignation or they fine you up to $7,500.
