Pros

Fun activities, friendly co-workers, fair hours, working with animals, working with kids of different age groups, educational, CPR/AED training provided.

Cons

Can't think of much unless you don't work well with children or have little experience. Sometimes you need to lead tours or lead activities and there is little training for that except watching others who've done it before.

Pros

Coworkers genuinely care about the animals and often go above and beyond to make sure they receive the best care possible. The work itself is rewarding, and you gain experience with many different medical and behavioral cases.

Cons

Management has become increasingly disconnected from the staff doing the day to day work. Full time employees are expected to take on more responsibilities without meaningful increases in pay or opportunities for advancement. Raises do not reflect additional skills or tasks taken on, communication is inconsistent, and favoritism often influences promotions. Burnout is common, turnover is high, and experienced employees frequently leave because they feel undervalued and replaceable.
