Pros
- Outstanding Senior Leadership team + Caring and empathetic mentors + Strong communicators + Role-model behavior of senior leaders trickles down to rest of the team. - Team moves lighting fast on product . + Great product (use the app!) supported by a supremely capable team. + LOTS to learn and plenty of opportunities to grow + Releases/improvements that took months in my last company take *days* here + All levels of leadership seamlessly participate in product meetings - Very positive culture + WFH is the norm (Usually Fridays) + Culture attracts some really great and high performing people. + Many senior employees have kids and make the work/life balance work.
Cons
- 'Supply' + Rocketship growth has its downsides... Namely there can be perpetual shortages of people to do the work. + Lack of redundancies on key teams mean that people can pull long hours, have little time off, or have odd workweeks (Sun-Thus) - #startup + Engineering bandwidth is constrained (not unusual and not surprising) + Work/Life balance requires VERY strong boundaries and a strong team to rely on. - Weekend work an late night slack convos are the norm. + Rinse lacks the mature processes of large companies... No surprise here and likely a Pro for many (like me).
