Pros

Relatively well-oiled machine, people know what they are doing for the most part, you aren’t reinventing the wheel

Cons

A bit of an odd work environment, no particular culture. Had an experience where one of the higher-ups offered to connect me to a grad program I was interested in, but then the email connecting me was all about my (assumed) racial identity, which we had not talked about.

Pros

Nice office space. Occasionally, lunch and leftover food from meetings provided in kitchen. One of the staff even makes breakfast from time to time.

Cons

The Raiser's Edge Assistant position is a high skill position which is normally filled with seasoned contractors. Unfortunately, McCormick does not provide these workers with a living wage. (In 2017, the hourly rate increased to $10.50 when minimum wage increased from $10.) The Development Director (who signs off on these contracts) is problematic on many levels. He has created a very uncomfortable situation where staff who suck up to him are favored and others are walking on eggshells hoping not to cross him. Assertive women are a particular threat to him and he will make their lives difficult until they leave or will fire them without cause.
