Pros

Work/life balance is outstanding. I'm used to put 60 hour weeks routinely, but at Roblox I work normal business hours. No outsourcing. The founders built the company with a thought that they want to enjoy working there and want others to feel the same. They've wonderfully succeeded. People really have fun at work. Ideas are encouraged. Management always looks to optimize feedback channels, so they can hear everyone. Startup with no strings attached. Greatly profitable, currently growing at outstanding rate. Talented people around, great technologies to work with. Great medical & FSA benefits

Cons

The office is in an old building. A/C's are noisy, you can see lots of odd piping going through the rooms. C-management keeps their grip on all decisions made. Sometimes you may find it tough to work with them. Though, you feel respected anyway.

Thank you for your feedback - and for being a part of shaping the Roblox experience. We’re proud of the fun-loving, hardworking workplace that hopefully nails the work-life balance as you mentioned . Our old offices on 3rd Ave certainly painted the picture of a startup in growth mode, but lucky for us, we have since moved in to our new HQ just down the road - and we love it. If you’d like to share more insights, contact feedback@roblox.com.

Pros

Total compensation is top of the market. Good benefits, matching 401k, free DEXA scans, nice HQ.

Cons

Chaotic management. Violatile stock price, one year you can make a lot of money with your RSUs, the next year its all worthless. Progression is hard, on paper they have a standardized rubric for leveling engineers but when it comes to calibration that's when the gaslighting and the caveat starts.
