Verbally abusive company owner, never listens to concerns, opinions or ideas from the employees. Gives you an unrealistic workload, so that you're overwhelmed. He asks about your knowledge and opinions and then proceeds to undermine you. He will purposely set the staff against each other, which creates an atmosphere of tension and fear. He emotionally bullies you until you do what he says, otherwise it's always wrong. Even if you do what he says, most of the time it will always be wrong. Shouts loudly when frustrated or annoyed with you, which can come across as aggressive and threatening. He constantly patronises you, so that you feel like a child or stupid. He says insensitive comments and he tries to pass it as a joke but this always offends people and upsets them. You don't actually really handle many true vintage clothes, most of it is just secondhand sportswear and basic button shirts from about five to ten years ago that you could find in a charity shop. HR is non existent in the company, you voice your concerns to the warehouse manager and then they're immediately passed to the company owner and then never resolved and ignored. The warehouse is littered with so many health and safety hazards, there are no clear pathways usually, tools and building materials are left all over the floor and jobs are allocated to people who tend to have no license to do so, such as operating a forklift, which is also an out of date model that is falling apart. All of this isn't a personal opinion, it is a view held amongst the employees in the company. I would like this to be a warning and piece of advice for people thinking of applying to Rokit.
