Pros
-great work environment and culture. Made a lot of new friends -management is always approachable if you have any comments or concerns -the company is pretty proactive about resolving employee requests and has been good at showing their appreciation for their employees. For example, I know employees have complained about their pay, so royal is giving everyone a raise. Royal also hosts multiple extravagant employee appreciation events (private club events, BBQs, anniversary party, Christmas party, beach days, they even set up special hotel accommodations so employees don't drink and drive) -Management are super supportive about your career goals, most EMTs don't want to be EMTs forever and they respect that. They know most of us are using this job as a stepping stone but they invest a lot of their time into us regardless. Supervisors and Eve (owner, HR Manager) are more than happy to write awesome letters of recommendations when applying to graduate school or a new job -pretty easy to pick up shifts/get shifts covered
Cons
-Pay is currently less than other BLS ambulance companies in the Bay Area however it was recently announced that all EMTs will be getting a $2.00/hr pay raise. Which i think we should all be appreciate about. -I used to get held over a lot, sometimes up to 3 hours past my off time. I'm pretty sure most companies are like that though. But it has greatly improved recently. I know most times it is out of their control but I hope they continue to be more diligent about calling us back to base on time.
