Pros
Immediately upon takeover, SEB provided all officers performing a driving patrol with an attractive, well-maintained, later-model vehicle. They replaced our old, dangerous, unsightly vehicles with good ones. Site assignments have remained intact. Sign-on bonuses were given to all officers who agreed to stay on after the transition. New uniform is an improvement.
Cons
Some officers, including site supervisors, were required to accept pay cuts. Some management & supervisory positions were eliminated. Hourly pay, while higher than some security companies, is still ridiculously low. The industry seems unaware that Security is no longer a part-time job for students and retirees; it is now the main source of income for middle-class homeowners with a mortgage, insurance, childrens' college tuitions, etc, to pay.
