Pros
SLB has a world-class training program for their engineers in which you get to travel internationally. The training is rigorous and hands-on. Great gateway company for entering the oil and gas industry. Flexible work from home policy if you work in the office. SLB has a very international workforce and you will meet people from all around the world.
Cons
As an engineer SLB expects you to be working all the time even on the weekends and to be on call 24/7. High turnover rate for managers, engineers and field crew which means the rest of the team has to take on additional responsibilities without a salary increase. Although SLB pays overtime, it's not worth the effort nor the stress and workaholic culture often takes a toll on family life and health from what I have seen and experienced. The shifts you are assigned in the field as an entry level engineer vary widely and frequently and will take a toll on your body. For the engineering program they pull you out of the field after about a year and put you in the office where you will have to deal with office politics.
